As a localizer, I translate apps, websites and video games into Italian, using professional software such as MemoQ and Trados Studio. For larger projects, when several professionals work simultaneously to ensure fast turnaround times, it’s essential to manage glossaries and recurring terms.
Driven by curiosity, in 2020 I attended the “Translation for Video Games” online course with the University of Salento. During my training course in Audiovisual Translation in 2021, I successfully obtained the “SDL Trados Studio 2019: Getting Started” certification.
My work in numbers
I know the subtitling guidelines of all the clients and platforms I work with like the back of my hand. And I’m the same when it comes to software since I’ve been using privately licensed professional software for years.
Over time, I have developed a rigorous quality control process.
Before starting translating, I always familiarize myself with the project by reading and evaluating it. After translating, I review my work several times, making any corrections needed, before delivering it to the client within the agreed deadline.
My redelivery rate is less than 1%.
