Gloria Finotto - Traduzioni

Metadata for audiovisual products, tourism and marketing texts

How much does the synopsis of a movie affect the viewer’s choice? Let me tell you a secret… a lot.

That’s why, in addition to subtitling and adapting, I also translate the official titles of movies, TV series, documentaries, and reality shows, and write synopses in Italian for the most popular streaming platforms. Character limits don’t get in my way; I love the challenge!

When I step out of audiovisual translation and into tourism and marketing texts, my creativity takes over. This is where captivating and engaging the reader are everything. It’s essential to create texts that don’t sound “translated”, convey the same meanings as the original, and draw the reader in. That’s where transcreation comes in, a highly creative technique that translates content (rather than the words) so that it packs a punch in Italian.

If you need my creativity to get round those tricky puns or wordplays, or to add flow to a text that doesn’t quite sound natural, just reach out!

Gloria Finotto - Cosa mi contraddistingue come professionista

Why work with me?

I know the subtitling guidelines of all the clients and platforms I work with like the back of my hand. And I’m the same when it comes to software since I’ve been using privately licensed professional software for years.

Over time, I have developed a rigorous quality control process.
Before starting translating, I always familiarize myself with the project by reading and evaluating it. After translating, I review my work several times, making any corrections needed, before delivering it to the client within the agreed deadline.

My redelivery rate is less than 1%.
